Scene 5:  About Irchester Players

We are a small, but friendly and enthusiastic local Amateur Dramatic Society based in Irchester, on the east of the county of Northamptonshire, in-between Rushden and Wellingborough. We have a membership of over 50 people representing a broad cross-section of society coming from all over the county; and our members range from 8 years old and up to .... well, just think of an age.

Scene 6: What Do We Do?

We aim to stage three shows every year; a family Pantomime in early to mid February, and a Musical in mid June, and a Play in mid October. In addition to this we also like to get involved with the local community and do one-off shows/reviews for other bodies in the village of Irchester. All of our shows are staged at 'Parson's Hall' in the High Street, Irchester, Northants; which is conveniently located next to the 'Carpenters Arms' public house.

We rehearse every Wednesday night in the upper rooms of the 'Irchester Working Men's Club', and closer to each show we rehearse on Sunday's at 'Parson's Hall' itself. In addition to this we like to offer social events to our members, their family and friends. These include Quiz Nights, Outings, Car Rallies, BBQ's and lots of Themed Parties, and our annual Oscar's night!

Scene 7:  What Can We Offer You?

A wide range of opportunities either on, or off-stage, front of house or behind the scences. If your interested in joining our group we can always find you a job; but who know's, you may have a hidden talent waiting to emerge!

We are always looking for people to get involved in the following area's:

On Stage

Acting, singing, dancing, principles or chorus

Behind Stage

Stage Managment, backstage assistance, props, designing &/or scenery painting, building sets, prompting, dressers or make-up

Costumes

Designing &/or making costumes, basic machining and sewing

Front of House

Box Office, selling programmes, leaflet or poster distribution

Musical Team

Musical Director, playing instruments, rehearsal pianist

Technical Team

 Electrics, lighting, sound, setting-up, and clearing-down

Scene 8:  Membership

Anyone over the age of 8 can become a member; anyone wishing to audition for a show must become a member if cast. Our current annual membership fees are:

Children (16 and under): £5.00

Students, OAP's and the Unwaged: £10.00

Adults (over 16): £17.00
